BODY ODYSSEY
The Body Odyssey exhibit reintroduces the Giant Heart as the main attraction in a vast, 8,500-square-foot exploration of the human body's complexities and its journey toward balance and well-being. Enhanced with cutting-edge sensory technology, the Giant Heart allows visitors to harmonize their heartbeats with its own, turning the space into a vibrant display of light and sound that resonates with the rhythm of life.
HAMILTON COLLECTIONS GALLERY
The Hamilton Collections Gallery marks a groundbreaking moment for The Franklin Institute, serving as its inaugural public exhibition of a vast array of historical artifacts. Spanning two stories, this gallery showcases over 500 items that highlight two centuries of scientific advancements and innovations. Among the remarkable pieces on display are Benjamin Franklin’s Glass Armonica, Thomas Edison’s iconic light bulbs, and various wing models from the Wright Brothers’ Aeronautic Collection.
At the center of it all stands the impressive 350-ton Baldwin 60000 Locomotive, positioned on a specially designed cutaway floor that exposes the intricate steel and concrete bridge structures that support this engineering wonder. Surrounding the locomotive, newly crafted visible storage bays emerge from a state-of-the-art collections center located on the foundation level, providing an exclusive look at artifacts that have never been showcased to the public before.
