Fall is seriously one of my FAVORITE times of the year in South Jersey! Give me the cooler weather, changing leaves, pumpkins everywhere and an excuse to grab an apple cider donut and I am happy. ๐๐
And while I LOVE a good fall festival, sometimes you don't need an entire day planned out. Sometimes you just need somewhere to take the kids for an hour or two, get everyone out of the house and enjoy the fact that it's finally not 95 degrees outside. ๐
So if you're looking for some easy fall fun around Cherry Hill, Pennsauken, Haddonfield, Maple Shade, Voorhees and Marlton, here are a few ideas!
Have a Fall Farm Day at Springdale Farm Market
You don't even have to leave Cherry Hill to get a little bit of that classic fall farm experience!
Springdale Farm Market is Cherry Hill's last working farm, and once fall rolls around, it's definitely one to add to your list. Pumpkins start making their appearance around mid-September, and throughout October you'll find pumpkins of all different shapes and sizes.
They also offer pumpkin hayrides and campfire hayrides during the fall season!
And obviously, you can't stop at Springdale without checking out the market and bakery while you're there. I'm a sucker for anything apple cider flavored once September hits. ๐

Definitely check with the farm for current hayride dates, times and availability before heading over since activities can vary throughout the season.
Take a Fall Walk Around Cooper River
This is probably one of the easiest ones because you can make it as short or as long as you want!
Head over to Cooper River, bring the bikes or scooters, take a walk or just let the kids run around for a little bit. Once the leaves start changing, it's also such a pretty spot to get outside and enjoy fall.
You could even make a little fall scavenger hunt for the kids! Have them look for different colored leaves, acorns, pinecones, squirrels and whatever other random things you can come up with to keep them occupied. ๐
Pack some snacks and you've got yourself a super easy—and FREE—fall afternoon.

Explore One of Cherry Hill's Trails
Here's your reminder that there are actually a bunch of little trails and nature areas tucked around Cherry Hill!
You can check out areas around Barclay Farmstead, Croft Farm, Kresson and more.
Fall is honestly one of the BEST times to explore them because you're not melting from the summer heat, the bugs aren't quite as aggressive and everything starts looking so pretty once the leaves change.
Give the kids a mission to find the biggest leaf, weirdest stick or most colorful tree and suddenly you've bought yourself at least another 20 minutes before someone asks when you're leaving. ๐

Barclay Farmstead
Barclay is a really cute one for fall because you get the trails plus the whole historic farmstead setting. There's also an apple orchard, playground, picnic areas and open space.

Another easy option is Croft Farm! There's a walking trail around the historic property, and it's another pretty place to explore once those fall colors start showing up.

Hit a Playground and Pack a Fall Picnic
This one is SO simple, but my kids have always loved when we turn an ordinary playground trip into something a little different.
Pack lunch or grab something on the way and have a picnic before letting the kids loose on the playground.
Jake's Place at Challenge Grove Park in Cherry Hill is a great option and it's an inclusive playground, which I LOVE.
And once we get those perfect 60-something-degree fall days? That's playground weather right there. ๐๐ป

Walk Around Downtown Haddonfield
Downtown Haddonfield is one of those places that's just really cute in the fall.
Take a walk down Kings Highway, check out the shops, look at all of the seasonal decorations and grab the kids a little treat.
You don't even necessarily need a plan. Sometimes we'll just walk around and see where we end up!
You can also turn it into a little Halloween decoration hunt once businesses start decorating for the season. See who can spot the most pumpkins, ghosts or skeletons while you're walking around. ๐

Check Out Evans Pond
If you want another easy outdoor option, head over to Evans Pond in the Cherry Hill/Haddonfield area.
Take a walk, look for wildlife and let the kids explore a little bit.
This is another one that's especially nice once the leaves start changing—and it doesn't have to be some huge planned outing. Throw some sneakers on everybody, grab the water bottles and GO. ๐

Save Some Indoor Ideas for Those Rainy Fall Days
Because we all know fall in South Jersey can mean a gorgeous 65-degree day followed immediately by rain. ๐
Monster Mini Golf
Monster Mini Golf in Cherry Hill is a fun one for fall because it already has that dark, spooky-ish vibe without actually being scary Halloween stuff. ๐
They have an 18-hole glow-in-the-dark mini golf course along with an arcade, mini bowling and a Laser Maze.

Go Roller Skating at Hot Wheelz
Another easy rainy-day option is Hot Wheelz in Cherry Hill!
Get everybody out of the house, throw some skates on the kids and let them burn off some energy while staying nice and dry inside.

And don't forget about the libraries! A library trip, some fall books and maybe a craft at home afterward can easily fill up a rainy afternoon without spending a ton of money.
Make a Family Fall Bucket List!
This is also a really fun one to do at the beginning of the season.
Sit down with the kids and let everyone pick a few things they want to do before fall is over.
Your list could include:
- Jump in a giant pile of leaves ๐
- Pick out a pumpkin ๐
- Take a hayride
- Drink apple cider
- Eat an apple cider donut
- Take a fall nature walk
- Visit a playground you've never been to
- Collect colorful leaves
- Have a fall picnic
- Decorate pumpkins
- Bake something with apples
- Take some fall family pictures
- Drive around looking at Halloween decorations ๐ป
It doesn't have to be expensive or complicated!
Honestly, some of my favorite days with the kids are the ones where we didn't have some huge plan. We just found somewhere to go, grabbed some snacks and got out of the house.
So enjoy those cooler South Jersey days while we've got them because we all know they'll disappear WAY too fast and suddenly we'll be freezing and complaining about that instead. ๐๐
Happy Fall! ๐๐งก
